Dr. Sérgio Simon

Dr Sergio Simon is graduated in Medicine at the School of Medicine, University of São Paulo, Brazil. He completed his residency in Internal Medicine at Mount Sinai Medical Center in Miami Beach, FL. He was a fellow in Hematology at Rutgers University in New Brunswick, NJ and in Clinical Oncology at Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center in New York, NY. He obtained his PhD from the School of Medicine, University of São Paulo USP. He was the president of Brasilian’s Oncology Society from 2017 to 2019. Dr Simon is a medical oncologist at Albert Einstein Hospital in São Paulo and a founding partner of CPO (Centro Paulista de Oncologia). He is CEO and founder of the Brazilian Breast Cancer Study Group (GBECAM) and a member of ASCO, ESMO and SBOC.

Bryan E. Strauss P.h.D.

Medical Research Coordinator, Cancer Institute of Sao Paulo, Bryan has more than 25 years of experience in the area of cancer, developed a novel concept in the design of gene transfer vectors, also has developed a novel transcriptional control strategy that involves an autoregulated positive feedback mechanism to ensure high-level transgene expression. He has published over 60 papers and participated in many important conferences, as well as serves as an editorial board member of renowned publications in the field. Currently he is responsible for the Viral Vector Laboratory, at the Cancer Institute of Sao Paulo, University of Sao Paulo School of Medicine. While not a core facility per se, the lab provides support for the construction, production and application of adenoviral, lentiviral, retroviral and adeno-associated viral vectors in a wide variety of models, one of very few labs in Brazil with such capabilities.
