Celluris Participates in the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation

After participating in the Neo-industrialization workshop on new foundations and support for innovation in companies, held in May at the headquarters of Finep – Funding Authority for Studies and Projects, in Rio de Janeiro, Celluris was invited to attend the country’s main science and technology event – the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation, which began on Tuesday, July 30, in Brasília.

Patrícia Rozenchan, Executive Director of Research and Development at Celluris, participated in the session: “Brazilian Startups: Financing and Growth,” which took place on Tuesday afternoon, the 30th. She shared the panel with other speakers, including Fernando Peregrino, Chief of Staff of the Presidency of Finep, Artur Pereira from WebSummit, and Plínio Targa, CEO of Brain4Care.

“The Conference is an important space for the exchange and mobilization of companies, government, researchers, and academia to debate and define the future of science and innovation in the country for the next 10 years. For Celluris, it is a great opportunity because we are part of this innovation ecosystem and will be directly impacted by the decisions and strategies defined during the event,” she stated.

At the event, the book “FINEP and Neo-industrialization – Startups, Deeptechs and Their Ecosystems: A Contribution to the 5th CNCTI,” in which Patricia Rozenchan was a co-author, was launched. The launch was attended by the Minister of Science and Technology, Lucia Santos.

About the event

With the theme “Science, Technology and Innovation for a Just, Sustainable, and Developed Brazil,” the 5th National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation, which runs until Thursday (1st), is the main forum for debates about the future of science in the country. The event, which returns after 14 years, with 320 speakers, will discuss the priorities of public policies in the sector. The 5CNCTI is organized by the Ministry of Science, Technology, and Innovation and the CGEE (Center for Management and Strategic Studies), with support from various entities in the sector and civil society.

The main goal of the conference is to build the new National Strategy for Science, Technology, and Innovation (ENCTI) by 2030, according to a presidential decree, and to define concrete actions for the coming years.

Representatives from the government, scientists, entities, and other representatives of civil society are participating. Among the main topics are urgent challenges such as artificial intelligence, climate change, energy transition, new industrialization policy, and funding for science and technology. More than 2,200 people are attending in person, and another 2,000 are participating virtually in more than 50 debate sessions and seven plenaries.
